Dr. Riyaz is Visiting Sr. Consultant Endocrine & Laparoscopic Surgery at NMC Specialty Hospital, Al Ghoubra with more than 30 yrs. of experience in the field of Advanced Surgery. He is also attached to Royal Hospital; Muscat as Sr. Consultant and Head of Endocrine Surgery Unit. After is MBBS from Government Medical College, Bellary he completed his Masters in Surgery (MS) from Victoria-Vanivilas Hospitals, Bangalore University, India.

He also obtained FRCS from Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, United Kingdom and FAMASI (Fellowship in laparoscopic surgery) from the association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India.

He is also a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Sultan Qaboos University medical School, Post Graduate Trainer and Scientific Committee Member for Surgical department of Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) and Nodal officer for Department of Surgery and OMSB surgical program for ACGMI accreditation.
